In June, GO Unlimited—the New Mexico chapter of United Spinal Association—traveled to Washington, D.C. to meet with our state’s federal representatives as part of the 2025 Roll on Capitol Hill advocacy event. Held June 22–25 at The Mayflower Hotel, Roll on Capitol Hill brought together over 100 wheelchair users and advocates from 37 states, engaging in more than 150 meetings with members of Congress to advance critical disability rights and accessibility policies.

GO Unlimited partnered closely with our friends at United Spinal Association to amplify New Mexican voices on crucial issues like Medicaid protection, wheelchair repair access, transportation equity, telehealth expansion, and veterans’ benefits. Through these meetings, New Mexicans with disabilities shared personal stories and policy recommendations directly with lawmakers, ensuring our perspectives are heard in the halls of power.

Roll on Capitol Hill is United Spinal’s flagship policy and empowerment event—now in its 13th year—designed to elevate grassroots advocacy for the 5.5 million + wheelchair users across America. Together, participants build skills in policy education and engagement, connect with national advocacy networks, and push for tangible change.

GO Unlimited’s New Mexico delegation left D.C. energized and united, bringing back new connections and momentum to advance disability rights at home. This effort exemplifies how collaboration—between local chapters like GO Unlimited and national organizations like United Spinal—can “move the needle” on policy and awareness.

For advocates across New Mexico: stay tuned for updates, trainings, and resources from United Spinal and GO Unlimited. We invite everyone impacted by mobility disabilities to join us, speak up, and be part of the conversation—because advocacy is stronger when New Mexico’s voices are rolling together.
